Therapy for Anxiety

The worrying never stops.

You have been living each day with a mind that never stops asking, “What if? What if I get sick? What if I lose my job? What if I get in an accident?”

Everywhere you go, you see danger all around you. It is that feeling in your stomach that tells you that you are about to be sick. The physical symptoms are all about you – sweaty palms, fast heart rate, hyperventilating, and uptight shoulders.

Each day, you are fighting a battle against anxiety that no one knows about. You are both tired and amped up at the same time. At night, the lights go off, but your mind continues to turn. It feels like your mind is playing tricks on you.

The inner tension you feel in your body is matched only by the constant apprehension and fear in your mind. You begin to wonder, “Is there a better way to manage my anxiety?”

Therapy offers a better way.

Together, we can calm your anxiety. I am both intimately and professionally aware of the inner battle that you are facing.

African Americans struggle with anxiety for all of the reasons everyone else does, plus having to deal with toxic stress, health disparities, and institutional racism.

I consider myself a navigator who can help liberate you from the racing thoughts and dangers that you see all around you. Being in therapy with me provides a comfortable space to explore your vulnerabilities and fears to get to a place of empowerment and confidence.

This is not your typical therapy session. Instead, it is a place where you feel understood and seen for who you are and where you want to be.

Achieve the peace that you have longed for.

I want to help you go from restlessness and panic on the inside to serenity and calmness. You will learn ways to become less anxious and develop skills allowing you to cope and stay in the moment.

You are worth the effort that it takes to achieve the results that you want.

Together, we will help you go from the storms of nervousness and worry to the calm waters of peace and tranquility.
